A Little about the Club
Interested in joining
a running club ? Centurion RC have been around for over 30 years, a
friendly club with over 100 current members.We welcome runners of all
abilities from the 5 minute miler to the steady Sunday jogger, whether
you want to participate in competitive races, complete a 5K
charity event or just keep fit for fun !
The club actively participates in a range of events. During
the winter months there is always cross-country with both a mens and
womens section. Then in the summer there are a wide variety of road
races including the popular Warwickshire road race series. Members compete
in many of the major events during the year with up to 20 taking part
in
the London Flora marathon. We have an active social side to the club
with organised events including our club awards evening, pub nights, days
out walking, cycling and the odd group holiday.
The Centurion club organise the very popular Centurion Grand
Prix series (Nov-Apr) and the Coleshill Fun Run usually held in May. As
a member you can enter club events like the Sutton park
relays and XC races for free, avoid any 'unattached' levy and
usually obtain 10%
discount from most running shops. If you are interested then
give us a
trial run, come along and meet the members.
Where and When We Meet
We meet at 19:00 on Tuesday and
Thursday in the foyer at the North
Solihull Sports Centre, note if you are coming along for the
first time then I recommend Tuesday as it is
the main club evening. Many club members also run on Sunday
mornings arranging in advance meeting times and locations, all
are welcome. There is a new centurions online forum which will
hopefully be used in the near future to notify members of any group
runs.
